I am raising money for a woman I am visiting at the ICE detention center in Tacoma. She fled her home country to escape violence and economic privation. She's 28 years old and she has a 5-year-old son who is back home with her mom in Haiti. She can't provide for her son while she is incarcerated, so it's not just her but also the rest of her family that's suffering. Additionally, she is suffering from endometriosis, which is very painful, and she is receiving no treatment. She entered the U.S. about one year ago under the SPBI program and she has a work permit. She complied with U.S. immigration policies, so it's unclear why she is being held.

She hopes to be released from detention but a judge recently rejected her case. She could possibly appeal this decision, but her fate is unclear. Her third and final hearing is coming up next week In the meantime, I am trying to help her by raising the money she will need to secure her release.

I was hoping to raise money to pay her bond but if she gets deported, the funds will go toward facilitating her relocation.
