I am a 7th grade teacher at ASA Charter School which is a TK-8 school on E Street in San Bernardino. 94.5% of our students from socioeconomically disadvantaged homes. Our school is a safe place where they eat healthy food, have a nurturing environment with people who love them, and don't have to worry about adult problems.

Field Day is the first week of June when we celebrate the end of the school year. We have the student Olympics, Kona Ice, inflatables, activities, and a picnic lunch. This is very popular for all the students.

Funding has been very tight and frankly, things just cost more. Because of budget cuts, Field Day was canceled. I am raising money to have it reinstated this year.

Any amount helps these kids feel that they are important also.

(If I don’t reach the amount or I have extra, I will use it to buy yearbooks for the kids who can’t afford them.)
