Reina M. fled El Salvador for a better life in the United States to provide for her children. She has worked as a nanny and has touched the lives of everyone she has met with her positive outlook, love and dedication to everything she does regardless of all the challenges she faces. On May 30 she suffered a severe stroke in her right brain, and had to have emergency hemi-craniectomy surgery (removal of part of her skull) which saved her life -- On Tuesday she was discharged from USC KECK hospital where she received first class care, but because of our countries lack of affordable, quality healthcare, Reina who has Medi-cal only qualifies for sub-par inhumane nursing facilities. She is in need of reliable after care and rehabilitation as soon as possible to ensure that she regains movement on her left side and speech. The place she has been moved to is dirty, dangerous, the staff are inhumane and non-caring. On her first night, she fell off the bed and screamed in agony for help. We want to remove her from there today, and any funds raised would support a better care situation for Reina where she can safely rest and receive the loving care and rehabilitation that every human deserves.
