Hello and thank you for reading! I am asking for your help to support my family through this hard time.

My family has been through a lot during the last few years, as well as having notoriously bad luck, but this most recent turn has been more difficult to navigate.

We have been homeless in our car, camping and in hotel for about 2 years now, despite being on the local housing lists and having access to local resources.

My family became homeless in May 2024 shortly after we decided not to re-sign our lease with our landlord due to their neglect of the property.

We had everything lined up to move in to our new home before our old lease ran out, but due to an unfortunate turn of events, we were not able to sign and then had to move out of our house and into our car.

It would turn out that as we were on our way back from seeing our would-be home and landlord, our car broke down for unknown reasons. We then sadly had to pay over $1000 due to the time and location of our car/call, and another $1500 to repair what we thought could be causing the problems in our vehicle. Unfortunately, this took the majority of the money we had saved up for the first/last deposit and first months rent, and we were not able to gather enough money within the short amount of time to move in. This also left us without the amount of money needed to do much else about our problem at that time, especially being in- between paychecks, so without any other choice, we moved into our car.

Since it was nearly summer and we have plenty of gear, we decided to camp at the local state parks and make the most of our time outdoors. We spent the winter of our first year sleeping in our car with our pets and it was pretty rough and very cold, we remember waking up a few times and there would be ice on the inside of the windows in the early morning.

Around December 2024, our car broke down for the last time and later, after realizing it could not be fixed, we surrendered it to the scrap yard.

However, recently my family was able to lease a used car after months of hard work, so we have access to a working vehicle again!

Even though we have been without a home since 2024, my sister and parents have not stopped working to get us into a better situation and are always looking for ways to improve things for us, leading to our exciting announcement that we have found a house we have been approved to rent!

It is suitable for our needs as a family, is pet friendly and the rent is within our price range!

Sadly, our cause to still ask for help is that despite being low income and having access to local resources, we do not qualify for any rent/moving assistance opportunities anymore, and must pay any upfront costs and fees on our own. Though we are able to afford rent and utilities as well as basic needs, we simply cannot afford the initial move in costs at this time on our own.

Also, while it is also nearly income tax season, our return is projected far past the time we need the money by, so we cannot rely on that as a source to pay by the deadline.

It is like our biggest dream as a family is right before our eyes and the time is slowly slipping away.

Any assistance is appreciated more than we can express and we are so grateful for all of the love amd support we have already recieved so far!!

Any funds recieved will be sent to a savings account through my moms bank as I do not have an established bank account at this time. Recieved funds will be used accordingly for rent, move in fees, and first/last deposit as needed. Donations will be paused promptly upon reaching money goal.
