Help rehome Paco and Penny in the UK

Donation protected
Summary

We found beautiful Paco fighting for his life in a bush next to a car park in Imsouane, Morocco. It was then that we knew we needed to help these little guys find a new home. We've found some amazingly kind people who want to give Paco and Penny a loving home in the UK but to get them there it won't be cheap. The puppies need to spend 4 months being fostered in Morocco before they're allowed to fly home, plus they need vaccinations, blood tests and travel documents. We've found an incredible charity to help us care for the dogs and get them ready to go to their forever home but we need help towards the cost of their care and travel to make this a reality.

Life on the streets of Morocco

The life of a street dog in Morocco is hard, and although there are some incredible charities here that do everything they can to help make the situation better, the reality is that there are too many dogs and too little funding. The harsh reality of how the government deals with stray dogs is a story I will save for another day, but just know it is not great!

We've been lucky to be parked up in a coastal village called Imsouane for a month now and have got to know the small community of dogs that live in the car park here. When we got here, there were 6 puppies but over the weeks, 4 have gone to puppy heaven leaving just 2 - we have called the Paco and Penny.

They are the sweetest little pups. Penny is a bolshy girl who thrashes around the car park playing with the other dogs but Paco is a lot more timid and a lot smaller. At the end of last week we thought we were going to lose him, he was very weak and thin and hadn't moved from hiding in a bush for 3 days. With some advice on how to force feed him and get fluids into him he seems to be returning to his playful self but we have been really concerned about how long he will last once we leave.

Giving them a new life

After posting the puppies stories on Instagram and Facebook we've been blown away with offers of adoption and help. We've found them the perfect family living in a big house with a garden in West Yorkshire who will be able to give the pups the loving, safe home they deserve and give them a real chance at life. But to get the dogs to the UK there is a long (and expensive) road.

We've found an incredible charity (CARE - Collective of Animal Rescuers in Essaouira) who will foster the dogs, care for them and take them to their vets appointments to get them ready for travel but they have advised that the cost of this will be in the region of £2,850 and thats where we need help.

We have set up this fundraiser to try and raise as much of the £2,850 as possible. Any money we don't make we will make up ourselves and if by some miracle we manage to over fund, we will donate any excess money to the work CARE do in taking vulnerable dogs off the street.

If you would like more information about the dogs or to follow their journey we will be documenting their journey on instagram at thyme.and.tide and I will be happy to send personal updates to anyone who donates.
