Help Re-home Cappuccino to the US!

Hello Everyone! Over the past year, I've been deeply involved in the life of an incredible dog named Cappuccino in Sayulita, Mexico. Our journey started November 2022 when I heard the heart-wrenching cries of a puppy living on my neighbor's rooftop. This makeshift "home" was nothing more than a tarp and straw for shelter, with no walls, running water, AC, or electricity. Cappuccino was confined to this cement world his entire 20 months of life…

Unfortunately Cappuccino's owner did not have the capacity to care for him and would often leave the sweet puppy on the scorching roof, alone up to 72 hours at a time, often without food or water Cappuccino was severely underweight, had underdeveloped muscle, riddled with ticks, depressed, and desperate for interaction. As he got older and started to escape, he was then tied up restricting his movement, forcing him to defecate in his only space.

Witnessing his dire situation, I couldn't stand by. In addition, I knew the Belgium Malinois breed are working dogs, mostly used in military and definitely not the type of dog that should be left alone or untrained. I offered to help, and after some convincing, Cappuccino's owner allowed me to take him to the vet for treatments, vaccines, and a complete health examination. Cappuccino started to recover physically and also received daily doses of care from me:) I provided him with food, toys, treats, a collar, leash, medication, vet visits, grooming, beach runs, taught him commands in both Spanish and English, and showered him with all the love I could give. I approached his owner, asking if he'd be willing to let me rehome Cappuccino. After months of negotiation, he agreed to let his ‘only friend’ go for a significant amount of money. I then started tirelessly searching for a new home for him, promoting him on social media and contacting numerous rescues with no avail.

Finally, after a year of working towards this moment - a BREAKTHROUGH ! My old friend Thatcher, who has a deep love for dogs and experience training similar breeds, has been eyeing Cappuccino from the start and is now ready to adopt him!!! I interviewed several people interested, but none felt like a better fit than Thatcher! Thatcher manages hemp farms and is currently launching a hemp based dog product business. He's a highly active outdoor enthusiast who is dedicated to training Cappuccino and will give him the freedom he deserves on 188 farm in Texas!

While we're thrilled about this opportunity, it comes with substantial expenses. Beyond the regular every day pet care costs, there are additional expenses associated with bringing Cappuccino to the US. These include payment to Cappuccino's owner, flights, dog travel crate, necessary paperwork for travel, medical examinations, medications, vaccinations, blood work, neutering surgery, post-surgery recovery accommodation, Airbnb pet fees, transportation, and transfer fees, and more. In the past week alone, the combined costs for myself and Thatcher have already exceeded $2,550.51 USD.

Thatcher and I are committed to making Cappuccino's transition to a loving home a reality, however, having your support would greatly ease the financial burden on us. Your contribution, regardless of its size, would be immensely appreciated. ❤️ We extend our heartfelt gratitude for your generosity in making Cappuccino's journey to a brighter future possible! We are looking to reach our goal by the time Cappuccino’s flight, November 8. THANK YOU!!
