Update: Your donations to date are very much appreciated! Thank you So much!
We are still far from our goal though, and running out of time with the court. Dad turns 90 years old this weekend, and we would love nothing more than to tell him we can hire the lawyer for him!
‐‐-----------------------------------------
Lisa's dad and mom bought their land and built a home on it 50 years ago. The property is burdened with a right-of-way that serves as a driveway for both dad and a back lot owner. Recently, the town and the back lot owner decided to name this right-of-way without ever consulting or informing Lisa's dad, even though he is the landowner. He only discovered the new name when the town road crew arrived and installed the street sign in front of his property. This unexpected decision has left him feeling deeply upset and overlooked, especially since he had hoped to name the right-of-way after his late wife, honoring her memory after 62 years of marriage.
Before taking this to court, Lisa's dad appealed to the town, hoping for a fair resolution. Unfortunately, the town appeals board denied his appeal, leaving him with no choice but to seek legal action. Lisa's dad sought legal help and has already paid a significant amount to an attorney. However, the ongoing legal process has become too expensive, and he can no longer afford the representation he needs. Navigating the superior court rules and laws on his own has proven to be overwhelming and stressful.
The funds raised through this campaign will be used to rehire the attorney, ensuring that Lisa's dad has the support he needs to protect his rights and be treated fairly. Any support—whether through donations or by sharing this fundraiser—would mean the world to Lisa's dad. Thank you for taking the time to read and for considering helping a family in need.
