Hi, I’m Shoshana — and if you know me, you probably know I have a black cat named Regis. He’s been with me since he was just five weeks old, and now he’s nine. He’s more than just a pet… he’s basically my boyfriend.

Recently, Regis was diagnosed with chronic leukemia. It was heartbreaking to hear — but there’s also hope. Many cats with this diagnosis can live long, full lives when it’s caught early and treated properly. Thankfully, we caught it in time.

We’re moving forward with treatment: chemo pills (chlorambucil), prednisone, and monthly blood work to monitor how he’s responding.

Right now, I’m relieved to say Regis is doing really well. Even with the asthma and allergies we already manage, he’s stable, sweet, playful, and just as cute as ever.

That said, the costs are stacking up — from previous vet visits and upcoming oncology appointments to a full year of meds and monitoring, things are about to get intense financially.
