Hi, my name is Reginald Lowndes. I’m a Marine Corps veteran, father, and founder of SafeNest—a child safety technology designed to help prevent hot-car tragedies.
Every year, children are lost after being left in vehicles. As a dad, I couldn’t stop thinking: there has to be a reliable system that detects the danger and responds fast—without guessing, without delay.
SafeNest is a smart child-safety system designed to:
Detect when a child is left alone in a vehicle
Activate automatic cooling/ventilation support
Send real-time alerts to a parent’s phone
Escalate by contacting emergency services if there’s no response
What I’m raising funds for
I’m raising $10,000 to build the first working prototype so I can begin testing, engineering refinement, and early safety validation.
How the funds will be used
Your support will help cover:
Engineering and electronics design
Sensors + communication hardware
Software/app development for alerts
Prototype enclosure and assembly
Initial testing and iteration
Early patent preparation and filing costs
Timeline
My goal is to complete the first prototype within 60–90 days of being fully funded, then move immediately into testing and refinement.
Even if you can’t donate, sharing this campaign helps more than you know. Whether you give $10 or $100, every contribution moves SafeNest closer to becoming a real product that can help save children’s lives.
Thank you for your support, encouragement, and for helping me build something that protects families.
— Reginald
