Hi, my name is Deborah and I’m fundraising for my big brother, Regie. Anyone would tell you that Regie is a salt of the Earth kind of guy. He lives and breathes for his family and friends – the kind of person that never meets a stranger. Regie truly enjoys the simple things in life like a good day of fishing, sitting by a campfire, and just laughing about the little things.

In June of last year, we found out that he has a rare form of blood cancer called Primary Myelofibrosis (MF). With this disease, his only option is a bone marrow transplant. Over the past 7 months, we have been on this journey to understand the disease, the changes it brings to Regie and his family, and the search for a donor. We’re excited to have learned this week that a donor has been identified and has agreed to donate.

However, with this news comes both excitement and anxiety. The cost of a transplant is not cheap. The medical expenses, medications, and living in another state for treatment and recovery for 4 months are costly. Therefore, we’re starting this fundraiser in hopes to aid in my brother’s fight against this disease, so he can focus on fighting this cancer with as minimal added stress as possible. Please consider donating to assist with living expenses while undergoing treatment in Florida, as well as medications and medical expenses that are not covered by insurance. Any amount will help and is greatly appreciated, as we know that Regie will be unable to work for at least a year. In addition to being an awesome big brother, he is also a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, and friend, so we’re all rallying together and asking for your support during this battle.
