Help Reggie get the send off he deserves

Reggies story

Reggie is my 6 week old son who put a smile on everyone’s face, his giggle would light up the room, his presence himself would make everyone feel better, from birth we was in and out of hospital due to infections and sepsis, but on March the 4th 2022 me, his dad and Reggie went to our local doctors surgery to register both me and Reggie and get Reggie an appointment. Once we go there we handed in our paperwork and I provided them with mine and Reggie’s birth certificates and a letter from our old doctors with my new address and my provisional drivers license containing my new address, but they refused it as proof of address. We still told them that Reggie needed to be seen by the doctors as he is just 6weeks old and had a cold he was struggling to breathe with, and an upset stomach, they reassure us would be fine and to either come back the next day or call them the following week with the correct proof, and only then they will see him. We went home like normal and continued with our day, him still smiling and giggling as usual. That night we went to sleep and I woke up the following morning, looked over to my son to see a blood clot coming from his nose, and he was already gone, 5th March 2022 7:11am my baby was pronounced dead. 

His cause of death is still unknown until the autopsy is complete.

Why we started a GoFundMe 

The reason we started the GoFundMe is because we want to give our boy the send off he deserves, we want his day to be as special as he is to us. But as young parents it’s hard to find the money. A lot of people have said “a babies funeral is free” which they aren’t wrong, the service is, but the cars, the flowers, the wake etc aren’t, and any money left over will be used to help parents going through a similar situation as us with a charity that is currently being made by us where we will be able to offer support, counselling and support groups as-well as helping them with giving their own baby the perfect send off without a financial struggle. 

What Reggie was like

Reggie was either always smiling, or always frowning, he only had them two emotions and it was the funniest thing. He was very advanced for his age, only being 6weeks and he would try crawling around, holding his head up from birth, and he would take his dummy out of his mouth when he didn’t want it, and put it back in himself when he did. Reggie was breast fed but would occasionally have the odd bottle and when he did he would try to take it off you to hold himself. He loved being cuddled and was so content, it would be hard to tell if he was poorly as his personality would shine through. Reggie would light up everyone’s world, anyone he met instantly loved him.
