Hi! My name is Cheri Young. I am a retired person from the city of Lynnwood, WA. It has come to my attention that a friend of mine needs help with her dental bill. She is a 61-year-old mom from Texas, a very fine person who has had some rough situations in her past. From being homeless to now needing assistance with her teeth (or lack of teeth). She had to have all her teeth pulled on Dec. 6, 2024, due to a genetic problem. I admire her for her strength to overcome what many of us would hope to never have happened to us. Her name is Refugia (Cuca) Hernandez (I call her Cookie) and at this time many of us need a helping hand. She has not had teeth since 12.06.2024, so has had a difficult time eating. Yesterday she found out she needs a lump sum of $3,500 to get dentures. Of course, in the US, the dentist has to be paid before the work is done, and although her insurance will pick up $5,000+ of the cost, she does not have the lump sum out of pocket that she needs and her credit is not so good (as many of us are experiencing these days). So, she has been working without teeth, eating without teeth, and living without teeth for close to 90 days. As most would be, she is embarrassed to not have teeth and I had to push her to let me take a picture. I feel for her!! I am hoping that some of you may be able to help her. She is a kind person that needs assistance.
