Hello! My name is Leo Parker, and I’m studying a Masters of International Affairs at the Hertie School in Berlin. This summer I will be working with the Partnership for Sustainable Development - Nepal and over the course of my time here I will be looking to raise money to go directly towards their reforestation initiative. Any donation will help!
The best thing you can do for the environment is also the simplest: plant trees.
Why This Matters
Nepal’s rural communities are facing some severe challenges:
· Deforestation, land degradation, and loss of biodiversity
· Food insecurity due to low agricultural productivity
· Youth migration driven by lack of economic opportunities
To tackle these issues, the project will plant 3,000 trees this year including monkey-deterrent crops like, lemon, avocado, walnut and Sichuan pepper—high-value plants that protect against wildlife damage and create lasting income for local communities.
With guidance from PSD Nepal, a trusted local NGO, the project will:
· Reforest barren land and improve soil health
· Provide sustainable income to families through agroforestry
· Empower women and youth to stay and thrive in their villages
· Reduce the pressure of labor migration
Your Impact
Your donation will go directly towards:
· Indigenous and high-value saplings
· Transportation of seedlings
· Compost, irrigation, and pit preparation
· Training and support for local farmers
· Wages for caretakers to ensure long-term survival
THE GOAL: Planting Trees = Empowered Families + A Greener Nepal + A Greener Planet
PSD Nepal is building a future where communities thrive with nature, not in conflict with it. With your help, this field will not only grow trees, but hope, opportunity, and resilience.
Please share to those who may be interested and many thanks for your support!
All the best,
Leo
