Help Referee & Umpire Joe Brown

Most of you who have played youth sports in the past know Joe Brown. He has refereed or umpired any number of your children's games. Joe is a tremendous ref and ump, not because his calls are always perfect - because no ref or ump is, but because his passion for teaching kids shines through. After most calls you will see Joe coaching the player on what the mistake was and how to correct it. He never loses his cool in the face of an angry coach or player, instead he defuses those encounters with his usual calm demeanor. Joe is the best of the best.

In saying all this, many of you have probably noticed that you have not seen Joe at any of the gyms this basketball season - that is because he is fighting Cancer. We know that Joe is strong and will beat this, but it is a hard fight and he could use our help. Howe Youth Basketball, in conjunction with the Howe Youth Sports Association and Grayson County Youth Basketball would like your support to help raise funds for Joe Brown and his family during this challenging time. These dollars will assist Joe and his family with rising medical bills and other necessities. Any small donation will go a long way towards helping a man we and our children know and love.
