Help Reeyan Khanal Hear and Embrace His Future
Donation protected
My name is Reeyan Khanal, and I was born on February 17, 2023, in a rural area of Kathmandu Valley, Nepal, to my loving parents, Maniram Khanal and Rabina Nyaupane. From the day I was born, I’ve faced a significant challenge – I lost my hearing. However, my family did not discover this until I was 1 years old. Since then, we’ve sought numerous treatments, visited several speech therapy centers, and followed doctor’s advice, but my condition has not improved.
After a series of consultations, my doctor recommended a cochlear implant for both ears, which could significantly improve my hearing and quality of life. Unfortunately, the cost of this procedure is 25,000 AUD (approximately NPR 2.5 million), a sum far beyond our family's financial capacity.
My father, though hardworking, does not have a stable or sufficient income to support this crucial treatment. We moved to Kathmandu city for my treatment, but financial struggles continue to make it incredibly difficult to afford the cochlear implant.
I am reaching out in the hopes that you can help me and my family give me the gift of hearing, so I can have a brighter, more connected future. Any donation, no matter how small, will make a world of difference and help me take this life-changing step.
Attached is a letter from my primary doctor at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu, Nepal, which outlines my medical situation and the need for the cochlear implants. Your support means more than words can express.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for considering a donation. With your help, I can finally experience the world of sound and fulfill my potential.
