I remember being in kindergarten and playing soccer with my shirt off in the front yard. When I heard some kids commenting how it was “weird” that I wanted to be shirtless, I put on a shirt and hid myself. Without fully knowing it, or wanting to acknowledge it, that deep shame and discomfort has followed me ever since. Every time I look in the mirror I see passed them — I can’t even manage to say my “boobs” because they have never been mine; they have never belonged to my body. This surgery is the absolute highest form of self-love I can get and I’m counting down the days until I can feel at ease in my skin! I am beyond appreciative of anyone who donates or shares… THANK YOU TO MY COMMUNITY!!
