Reese is still just a young dog, but he’s already fighting a complex medical condition that specialists are still trying to fully diagnose.

Over the past year, what started as concerning symptoms quickly grew into something much more serious. Reese has needed emergency visits, hospitalization, advanced diagnostics, and multiple specialist consultations. His care has gone far beyond routine vet treatment and we’re not finished yet.

We’re sharing Reese’s story because his treatment is ongoing, and we need help to continue giving him the care his veterinary team recommends.

What Reese Has Been Through

Reese’s health issues have involved his immune system, skin, and overall health in ways that are still being investigated. His care has included:

• Emergency veterinary visits

• ICU-level hospitalization

• Specialist dermatology care

• Advanced blood panels and lab work

• Allergy and immune system testing

• Imaging and procedures

• Ongoing medications

• Infectious disease and rare fungal testing

His veterinarians are now investigating more complex causes, including immune-mediated and infectious conditions that require specialized testing sent to reference laboratories.

What We’ve Already Done

We have followed every specialist recommendation and acted quickly at every step.

To date, we have personally covered over $55,000 CAD in Reese’s medical care. We didn’t hesitate, we just did what he needed.

But his diagnosis and treatment plan are still unfolding, and the costs continue.

Why We’re Asking for Help Now

Reese still needs:

• Ongoing specialist follow-ups

• Additional diagnostic testing

• Continued medications

• Monitoring and repeat lab work

These are not one-time costs. They are part of managing a serious and still-evolving medical condition.

Who Reese Is

Reese is gentle, loving, and incredibly resilient. He still greets people with a wagging tail. He loves being close to us, being outside, and simply being part of everyday life.

He doesn’t know he’s “sick.” He just trusts us.
