Help Reem's Family Flee Palestine and Rebuild their Lives in Egypt.

My name is Loai Shokry, and today, I'm reaching out on behalf of my childhood friend Reem, whose life has spiralled from normalcy into chaos amidst the war in Palestine. Each day is a gruelling struggle and a fight for survival. Bombs have obliterated their home and neighbourhood; they have fled to Rafah and are now living in a tent, struggling every day for basic essentials with no certainty about tomorrow.

Reem's home, once a hub of love and laughter that she shared with her husband, a teacher, and their four children: Hamza, the 19-year-old college enthusiast; Yasin, the 17-year-old dreamer; Jood, the passionate 13-year-old learner; and Jomana, the 6-year-old who brought laughter to every corner. Their daily life was a symphony of routine—rushes to school, Reem's homemade lunches, and evenings filled with family stories, dreams, and shared joys. This cherished life was shattered by war, turning their harmonious existence into a basic survival and fear for the future. I cannot watch my old friend stay in a makeshift tent in Palestine, and I am trying to help her and her family get to Egypt safely with your help.

We're on a mission to raise AUD$65,000 to aid Reem and her family's safe passage from the war-torn streets of Palestine to a new life in Egypt, where I have family and connections to help ensure their survival.

However, the Egyptian border crossing costs approx $5000 USD for each person, and there are 6 people to get across - Reem, her husband and 4 children. Egypt has its own economic difficulties, and she will need another $2,000 per month for 6 months until they settle and find a job. This total of $42,000 USD (or AUD$65,000) is needed for them to move to safety in Egypt and restart their lives.
