Help Reel Start Hit Its Fall Fundraising Goals

Since 2016, Reel Start has introduced career opportunities in film and television to over 75 young people from BIPOC and other underrepresented communities.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, our classroom pivoted to a virtual program. This allowed the students and industry volunteers to collaborate on the program's first animated short. This virtual program was a big success! However, we need your help to guarantee that we can continue to provide this unique and special opportunity to a new group of students in 2022.

Here is what your support can provide:

$25 Will provide a month of broadband Internet to a Reel Start Student

$200 Will cover books and supply costs for a student

$1,000 Will provide software, support, and a safe virtual learning environment for a student

$5,000 Will cover all the 2022 program costs for a student

$15,000 Will cover the production of our next student film

Your US tax deductible contribution will allow Reel Start to continue being the first step on a path from the classroom to the film industry, so that ultimately, the stories being told can become more diverse, socially engaged, and relevant to the world we all live in.
