Hello
We are Reed and Josh, and after years of setbacks, challenges, and pushing forward, we finally have a chance to study at Anglo-American University in Prague .
To make this happen, we must pay our first year of tuition upfront for visa approval, along with covering visa fees and proof of funds.
We are doing everything we can to make this possible. Reed is selling his house and we are exploring every option available to fund this move, but tuition is due now, and we cannot afford to wait.
If you can donate, we would be incredibly grateful. If you cannot, sharing this page makes a huge difference.
Who We Are and Why This Matters
We have both spent our lives working toward something greater. We want education, stability, and the chance to make a meaningful impact.
For Reed, this journey has meant pushing through impossible circumstances. Losing a job, recovering from a head injury, and trying to rebuild in a system that makes it harder every step of the way.
For Josh, it has meant struggling against every obstacle thrown in his path while still making space to uplift others.
Despite everything, we have always believed that education can change lives. Now, we finally have that chance.
What We Need and Why It Is Urgent
To make this move possible, we need to cover the immediate costs required for our visas and enrollment:
✅ Tuition (Required Upfront for Visa Approval) – $6,114 per person ($12,228 total)
✅ Proof of Funds (Required for Visa Approval) – $8,000 per person ($16,000 total)
✅ Visa Fees and Processing – $500 per person ($1,000 total)
Total Immediate Need: $30,000
Our total immediate need is $30,000, but we are starting with a smaller goal of $4,000 to build momentum. GoFundMe recommends starting with a smaller target and increasing it as we raise funds, so you may see the goal adjust over time. Every donation helps us get closer to our tuition deadline of March 15.
What Could Be Covered Later
We hope to fund our moving costs, flights, and long-term living expenses through the sale of Reed’s house and other means, but that process is uncertain. These are not immediate requirements, so for now, our focus is on tuition and visas.
If we reach our initial goal, any extra funds will go toward these costs.
Reed’s Statement
There is nothing in the world that makes me happier than learning. It is a genuine joy, the one thing that has kept me moving forward no matter what life has thrown at me. But no matter how much I love it, I have never truly been able to prioritize my education. Life has always gotten in the way. Jobs, financial struggles, and most recently, losing my job after a head injury. It has taken so much to get here, and now that I have this opportunity, I am determined not to let it slip away.
The other reason I need to leave is much harder to talk about. I am truly, honestly scared of what the future looks like for transgender people in the U.S. Some people tell me I am worrying over nothing, that things will not get as bad as I fear. But I know that nothing can turn into too late faster than people realize. I see what is happening to trans people in real time. Our rights are disappearing, our safety is becoming a political bargaining chip, and what was once a slow march of discrimination has turned into a sprint. I do not want to wait until I have no options left.
Prague offers me something I have never had. A real chance to focus on my future without constantly fearing for it. This is not just about earning a degree. It is about finally allowing myself to build something better.
Josh’s Statement
I am moving to Prague because I need a change, something bigger than just switching jobs or cities. The political climate in the U.S. has made it clear that staying here long-term is not what I want, and I am looking for a place that aligns more with my values and offers a sense of stability.
Prague has everything I am looking for. It is affordable, historically rich, and has a strong literary and intellectual culture that I know I will thrive in. Studying there is not just about earning a degree. It is about broadening my perspective, immersing myself in a new way of life, and connecting with people from all over the world.
I want to challenge myself, step outside of my comfort zone, and experience education in a setting that feels more global. Prague offers me that opportunity, and I know that going to school there will push me to grow in ways that would not be possible if I stayed where I am.
