Help Reed Heal

Donation protected
Dear Community, as a friend of Reed's, you may or may not know that he has suffered a traumatic concussion from an assault earlier this week. On Thursday night, he walked out of a pizza shop in Seattle to get some air, and was suddenly attacked by a person covered in hoodie and bandanna. They came up in front of him and hit him on the head with an object with such force that he fell to the ground and was  knocked unconscious. Luckily, his friends were inside and found him on the sidewalk within minutes, and rushed him to the hospital. His head was severely cracked open, his body is bruised and hurt, but due to the care of his community, he is beginning the healing process. It is seemingly like this is an attack from a repeat offender who has assaulted people in this neighborhood at random before. I cannot know how much pain this person is in, and we are all hoping they receive the help they need.

Reed is also in need of some help healing. Because of the concussion he has endured, Reed will not be able to work for at least the next month. This is a blow to anyone, but any self employed or working artist knows how particularly devastating this is. He has to cover his personal rent as well as his studio rent, and any extra funds we raise can go towards other healing expenses. I know Reed is too humble to ask for help on his own, but I am hoping in this moment we can come together as a community and show Reed how much we love and cherish him. Anyone who knows Reed knows how deeply thoughtful, bright, and kind he is. He helps run a free community bike shop, he makes art that strives to create a more colorful and liberated world, and more importantly, he is the kind of person who makes eye contact with people on the street and gives them a genuine smile, who is always the first to offer help. Life is strange and seemingly senseless at times, and all I know is that it's better when we band together. Thank you for helping Reed heal.
