Imagine going to work one day, putting your best foot forward to support the lives of your three children, only to end up in an accident and being told you may never walk again.
This scary reality happened just four weeks ago to Reece. Working in construction and engineering, a big metal beam went astray and knocked him out. This induced severe spinal cord damage which left him unable to walk or move from the shoulders down at all. No use of his hands or fingers which may prevent him from using his skills in his profession again.
Thankfully, with a strong mind and a heart of gold, Reece has been keeping his chin up and has kept the faith, seeing doctors astounded as he has made his first few steps.
This is incredible, and a real testament to Reece’s strong will and fight to keep supporting his 3 boys and wife.
However, Reece still doesn’t have feeling from his chest to his waist, and cannot use his hands or fingers at all from the cord damage.
Being someone whose whole life has been in engineering, construction and putting whole buildings together with his own two hands, you can only imagine the challenge this creates...
It’s the beginning of a long road to recovery, but with the help of those around him, and kind hearts like yours, we could all help Reece, his three boys and wife find a way to help him walk and hopefully one day write and use his hands again.
Everyone who knows Reece, knows he is one of the most generous people you ever will meet. Firsthand, we’ve seen him give the shirt off his own back to someone in need that he’s just met. Let alone the great lengths he goes to for his family and friends.
