Hi everyone!
My name is Reece, and I am 14 years old and a freshman at San Ramon High School.
I’ve been given an incredible opportunity to spend a semester of my sophomore year studying abroad in Zermatt, Switzerland in the fall of 2026. For three months, I’ll be completely unplugged from technology. No phone. No social media. No constant digital connection.
Instead, I’ll be fully immersed in hands-on learning, meaningful relationships, and real-world experiences.
During this program, I will:
Complete one semester of high school
Take additional advanced courses and earn extra credits
Travel throughout Europe with my class to experience what we’re studying firsthand.
Rather than just reading about history, culture, and geography, I’ll be walking through it. I’ll be exploring different countries, visiting historic landmarks, and learning directly from the places that shaped our world.
Living in the Swiss Alps will challenge me to grow in independence, resilience, and adaptability. This experience isn’t just about academics; it’s about becoming a more thoughtful, globally aware person.
Over the next 8 months, I will be working hard to contribute toward the cost, but I need support to make this dream possible. I will be babysitting, dog walking, Breaking in my boots with bay area fundraising hikes, & working weddings with my mom! Funds will go toward tuition, housing, travel, meals, and educational excursions throughout Europe.
As a thank you, I would love to send each donor a handwritten postcard from my travels. Since I’ll be unplugged, sharing something personal from wherever I am feels like the most meaningful way to express my gratitude.
Any donation, big or small, truly means the world to me. And if you can’t donate, sharing this page would help more than you know.
Thank you for believing in me and helping me take this life-changing step!
With gratitude,
Reece Meadows
