Assalamu Alaikum, my name is Reda Fawra. I am a 25-year-old medical secretary who worked hard to create a stable future for my family. However, due to the ongoing siege and repeated conflicts in Gaza, my dreams have been shattered.
The Story
On October 7th, the Al-Aqsa Flood War was declared on Gaza. My family and I were forced to leave our home in Shujaiya and seek refuge at my uncle's house in the west. Just three days later, we were ordered to evacuate to the south. With my husband remaining in the north at Al-Shifa Hospital, where he volunteered as a nurse, I fled with our young children, Aref (two years old) and Lian (three years old), to the south.
We now find ourselves living in a school in Al-Nuseirat under dire conditions. The lack of clean water and proper sanitation has taken a toll on us, especially my children. They have been unwell for several days, battling illness due to the unsanitary conditions.
