Help reduce Samuel's CRPS pain.
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Kate and I am fundraising towards treatment for my son, Samuel.
Almost 5 years ago, when he was only 9, Samuel injured his foot while playing with his brother. His original injury was micro-fractures to the main bones of his right foot. Within weeks, he had developed CRPS symptoms of swelling, redness, going cold and blue, as well as intense pain where touch was debilitating.
About a year from the initial injury, after trying to keep up with friends at school, his pain flared and spread to his left foot. Over the next 6 months, more flares spread the pain first to his knees and then to both hips, leaving Samuel in a wheelchair for 12 months.
Today, Samuel lives with a daily pain scale of 6 with flares of 8 that may last a week or longer. He can no longer attend regular school with his friends and has become quite isolated due to being limited in what he can do.
While researching possible treatments and dreaming of winning Lotto to take him overseas for possible treatment, we have discovered Scrambler Therapy. This is non-invasive and safe treatment that could provide Samuel with the pain relief we have been looking for.
We are lucky enough to have Lifeworks OT here in Perth which provides this treatment, the only service in Western Australia that does.
We had our initial assessment this afternoon and Samuel is booked in for treatment starting May 20th for 2 weeks (10 sessions).
Treatment costs $400 per session, which we would love help fundraising for. After the last 6 years of Dad's cancer treatment (he is now in remission and strong again) and Samuel's diagnosis, we are finally asking for help.
If you have $10 to spare, please consider helping Samuel try to get his life back.
Thank you.
