Help Redemption BBQ Go Mobile Again

Donation protected
Last week, someone stole the generator from the Redemption BBQ  trailer. With pandemic/winter business slow and already trying to deal with a broken refrigerator, owner/operator John Vest realized that he did not have the cash on hand to replace either of these pieces of equipment (even with insurance coverage). He therefore made the difficult decision to cancel food truck gigs for the foreseeable future and pivot to takeout and delivery service from Redemption’s commissary kitchen in Manchester.

Wanting to help out another company working to change local food systems for the better, Farmer Focus —the exclusive source of Redemption BBQ’s local, organic, sustainable, and humane chicken—generously offered to match GoFundMe gifts up to $1000 to help Redemption go mobile again.

John is truly moved by this act of kindness and support, recognizing it as a demonstration of RBBQ’s mission statement: “Believing we can redeem local food systems if we try, Redemption BBQ partners with Virginia farmers to provide true farm-to-table barbecue and Southern comfort food.” Through true partnership among local businesses and consumers, change can happen.
