Help Red receive life changing surgery

A RIG NAMED RED.

We are a non for profit rehoming organisation in South Australia “Silver Shadows Rehoming & Education”- specialising in standardbreds and we are asking for your help towards Reds’ surgery.

Please feel free to read Reds story below.
Prior to Red landing at Silver Shadows he spent the last 6 years living with his owner/trainer.
Red was a favourite with all the kids in the street who would regularly visit him to feed him carrots and whatever else they could get him to eat, leading up to that he raced as a rig. Although not big in stature, he was and still is big in heart.

Upon starting his breaking education, it was very apparent Red knew what to do, within the first handful of days he was backed, ridden off the lead and trotting and cantering under saddle with out fault, the interest around Red became quickly infectious- a small chestnut standardbred with a white star, often seen being fed carrots and hay by our 2 children Jaxon 5 and Sieanna 2.
Red has been on trail rides with 2 other horses, and faultless in traffic, goats, dogs and lawnmowers.

Red progressed to excel in nearly ever aspect without showing any stallion traits or "sterotypes”, he would nicker to other horses or have the odd call out when ridden alone just like alot here do, but has never once shown to buck, bite, bolt, kick or rear.
Red loves to be with other horses but is a little confused how to associate with them.

Unfortunately when the expression of interest ad was open, Red and his situation was described better that the term chestnut horse in his earlier ads meant a chestnut Male, the quick replies for how people who would need agistment can’t have rigs or stallions, or people have mares etc...

Going forward if Red was to be gelded the sky is the limit for this little man, having 2 of our own stallions we trust Red with our 2 year old daughter over another horse here gelding, mare or stallion.... Sadly Red does not know what he is, but that can also be his strength if gelded we believe he will live a full and promised life just as any horse should be allowed to, as stated he is fantastic with kids and animals, has been ridden by a pregnant lady... There is not one ounce of dirt in this lovely boy, he has the look at me looks for the show ring or the laid back nature for trails and just that is in such high demand.

Red requires an invasive surgery as one testicle is descended and the other is located in the abdomen.
Please note- this procedure (like all surgeries) come with risks.

Thank you,
Chantelle
