Hi to all of my friends and some hopeful new ones. I’m in desperate need of help for my service dog Red. My name is Eric S Levine,(if you Google my name the email I wrote to the BBC News the following morning before I went to the hospital was published and you can read it), and as many of you know I am a September 11th, 2001 survivor.

I was in 2 WTC 64th when the plane hit, and was injured quite badly. Even with all of my injuries I still managed to save 4 women. Carrying one woman,(whose legs had been crushed by the people panicking and running her over in the stairwell) down 20 flights to the 44th flr. where the first working service elevators ,Firemen and EMT’s were. I’m disabled from those injuries and unable to work.

Most recently I’m battling COPD, and on oxygen due to the dust and debris I inhaled.

I’ve never been one to ask for help as I’d rather suffer than say that I can’t do something myself. Unfortunately my service dog Red in the pictures is in desperate need of your help. He’s got a huge what they believe until a biopsy can be done, is a fatty tumor. We’re just not sure at this stage. Either way I do not have the money to even do that at this point. He’s now having problems walking, and with the decompressed (crushed discs in my back and 6 shoulder surgeries all from 9/11/01) I can’t even lift him myself. He’s also got a lower infected canine tooth that needs to be pulled (I’m trying to get a pick of it but it’s difficult by myself because it hurts him). But it does continue to gather puss and I need to clean it regularly.

We’re in a bad place my friends. I’ve never ever asked for anyone’s help other than God whom I pray to constantly for guidance and support. Hoping he will hear me and help Red. In the first picture you can see the mass as it lies right at his knee. The other dog in the picture is Ladybug his girlfriend and my other service animal. I know that these are tough times for all of us but if we could just get $1 from 7,500 people (if we can get this out to that many people) we could make the minimal amount for this surgery. The Vet says it’s anywhere from $7,500-10,000 depending on what needs to be done and if he should need chemo. He’s only 8 yrs old, and losing him would kill me.

He’s my joy, my rock and my loved one. He’s a family member just as anyone whom owns a pet can attest to. If you can’t do it for me than please do it for Red. He’s truly all I have!
