This is Red.
He’s the kind of dog who plays hard and loves harder, and right now he needs help.
He’s 7 years old, a Dutch Shepherd, and somehow both the smartest dog in the room and a total goofball. Fetch is his religion. The higher he can jump, the happier he is. He’s a lap dog trapped in a big, athletic body with a puppy personality and a guard dog spirit. Movie night couch cuddles are mandatory. His best friend is Remy the Malinois and together they are pure chaos and joy.
Red has a perineal hernia. It’s a condition where the muscles that hold everything in place weaken, and over time major organs and intestines can become trapped. Without surgery, this doesn’t resolve on its own and it can become dangerous. Surgery isn’t optional if we want him to stay healthy, active, and comfortable.
As hard as it is to ask, we’re reaching out for help so we can get him the care he needs as soon as possible. If you’re able to donate, share, or even just help spread the word, it truly makes a difference.
Every little bit helps and every share counts.
Red has given us nothing but loyalty, joy, and protection. We’re just trying to show up for him the way he’s always shown up for us.
Thank you for reading, thank you for caring, and thank you for helping keep this big jumpy cuddle bug doing what he does best.
