My name is Juanita Henderson and my house has 3 feet of water in it but FEMA won’t help my family. I am asking you to do what FEMA won’t and give support to me and my kids as we recover from the hurricane.

I live in La Place Louisiana (featured on CNN about how badly we were hit) with my 4 year old and 12 year old. When Ida came through our neighborhood, she was a category 4 Hurricane. I took my children we fled for our lives. But our parish wasn’t under a mandatory evacuation so FEMA won’t help us cover expenses from leaving.

My house was ruined. The water is just now receding but our clothes, our beds, our furniture, everything we left behind was in three feet of swamp water for a week. I have insurance so FEMA won’t help replace those things. And the insurance is taking its time to pay out and let us start rebuilding.

My kids need new clothes and a place to sleep. I have to pay the mortgage on my destroyed house and buy them everything they need. Your donation will have a direct impact on me and my family. Can you help by donating $100?
