Help recovering veteran secure housing

Hi, my name is Savanna Freeman. I am a disabled veteran of the United States Navy. I am fundraising in order to secure housing in a community that supports my recovery and purpose. On October 4th, 2022 I made the commitment to changing my life. My addiction to fentanyl nearly killed me and I (with the help of my parents) sought help in a last ditch effort to escape the life I was living. I had literally lost everything as a result of my own choices and inability to stop using. I am rebuilding my life from the ground up. I started my treatment in Great falls, Montana where I gained clarity and HOPE before heading to a facility called Warriors Heart in Bandera, TX. There I started to learn about my PTSD, patterns and behaviors that caused me to drink and use. I was forced to truly face myself for the first time ever. I have 115 days clean and sober today and am eternally grateful to God and all the amazing friends, family and professionals that have helped me along the way (there are many). I am working hard to ensure a good life for myself and my 6 and 10 year old sons. As I was trying to decide where to go from here I was approached at church by a woman with a rental opportunity. The property would be a perfect place for me to continue to work on myself and build on the life changing discoveries I have started to uncover here in Bandera. It’s less than five minutes from two key locations where I find the most support. I am asking for help because I didn’t want to miss the opportunity to get into this place and with my upcoming visit with my children in Montana I would not have been able to secure a job before my trip. I am in school full time working on my associates degree in chemical addiction studies. My passion lies in helping people who also suffer from this disease and my hope is that fundraising this money will help me ease into my first month or two outside of sober living so I can continue to focus on my spirituality, recovery, and education. Please know that this money will be used for first months rent and deposit. If there is any left over I will use it to buy used furniture. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
