My name is Ann, and although I now live in England, my heart will always belong to St. Elizabeth, Jamaica — especially my hometown of Slipe. I was born and raised there, and I still visit regularly to check in on my family, friends, and the wider community. I know these people personally — hardworking men and women, proud elders, and bright young children — and I’ve seen with my own eyes how much they are now suffering after Hurricane Mellsia.
Many in St. Elizabeth were already struggling with poverty before the storm. Now, after the hurricane’s devastation, so many have lost their homes, their crops, and their peace of mind. The Black River Hospital, which serves the entire parish, has been severely damaged — leaving people without vital medical care.
I can’t sit back and do nothing. As soon as it is safe and possible, I will be returning to Jamaica to bring help directly to those who need it most.
My goal is to:
️ Buy building materials like zinc sheets, lumber, and cement to help rebuild homes and hospital facilities.
Purchase food in bulk and distribute it to elderly residents and struggling families.
Provide clothing and essentials for children and adults who have lost everything.
Support the most vulnerable — especially the elderly and disabled who have no one else to care for them.
This isn’t just a cause to me — it’s personal. These are my people. This is my home. I’ve seen their faces, held their hands, and promised to do whatever I can to help.
I’m asking for your support so that together, we can bring relief, comfort, and hope back to the people of St. Elizabeth and beyond. Whether you give a little or a lot, every act of kindness will make a real difference.
From the bottom of my heart — thank you for standing with Jamaica. Together, we can rebuild, restore, and rise again.
