Never would I have imagined how quickly life could change in an instant. I’ve heard stories in my life, and have felt for family, friends and others that have been involved in a life altering moment in their life. With that being said sometimes life puts things into perspective and humbles us. On June 22, 2025 on my way home on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, I took a look in my rear view mirror, way back in the distance was a vehicle, put my blinker on with, (what thought was plenty of time for the driver). Seconds later checking my mirror again I saw that very same vehicle right on top of my Tahoe. Hitting me at full speed with no skid marks on the road beneath us to show any evidence of a breaking of any kind. I was hit full on by another motorist speeding and on their cell phone. I was half way into my turn when the vehicle collided with me, the vehicle went under my car and spun me around landing me into the ditch that was in front of my home.

My wife, nephew, and neighbor heard the whole accident take place the sound alone was eerily scary, but for them to look out and see it all playing out in real time was a shock. It is a shock to see anyone involved in such a serious accident, but it is amplified when it is your own family. Seconds later opening my car door and falling out of my Tahoe began crawling away, desperately trying to escape knowing that my vehicle may be jeopardized because of the severity of the impact, with the amount of smoke there was. Staring down at the pavement the sound of my family and neighbor’s voices in the background getting closer temporarily got my mind off of the shock to worrying about them and their witnessing of this life altering moment.

The driver of the other car told the neighbor he was on the phone, and realizing that he was completely at fault still did not even approach me to ask how I was, and failed to show any kind of concern whatsoever.

Since that day in June my life has completely changed, I ended up in the hospital for (3) days in intensive care. With the threat of my broken back T7 and T6 and complications to my neck also a stretched neck with a carotid artery compromised. There were a couple of days with this kind of uncertainty that are quite unnerving to say the least.

We desperately need your help, I was very reluctant to even start a Go Fund Me page, because in my life I’ve never had to depend on anyone. Never wanting to ever burden anyone and always have done for myself. The doctor bills have been piling up and the insurance companies are in a holding pattern making everything that much harder. Something like this could surely break your spirit and settle in a sense of hopelessness. Reaching out here is one of the only options I have left at this time.

With the future of my progress being so uncertain, not knowing what will be in store for my back. The progress has not been what we would have hoped for and the realization of a major operation is looming.

Right now my family is in desperate need of the funds to pay for everyday necessities: the rent, utilities, doctor bills; including a major operation that I may need to repair my broken back.

The first steps in raising some encouragement is to get these basic needs covered, to help take care of that worry, which we all know how worry could amplify any situation. So my hope is to raise enough money to help us through this extraordinarily difficult period of time in our lives.
