Help Recover from Moose Accidents
Donation protected
I have driven for the last 23 years on the Alaskan highways, never once hitting a moose until I had the misfortune of hitting two moose last year, one in January 2024, and then another in November 2024, totaling my first vehicle and causing my next one to need several thousands of dollars worth of work. After I totaled my first vehicle, I found another one in the Lower 48 and flew down and drove it back up through Canada by myself during March. I have been living with a permanent and total legal disability for the majority of my adult life, subsisting on Social Security Disability Income, and as of late earning some additional money walking dogs, making jewelry, and selling my memoir of what it was like to grow up off the grid in the Alaskan wilderness without any running water or electricity.
These two accidents set me back in many ways that I was not expecting at this time in my life, most markedly emotionally and financially. While I am very blessed and grateful that I did not get seriously physically injured in either accident, I am really struggling to pick up the pieces at a time in my life when I would hope to be more stable.
Any help that you could provide during this difficult time would mean more than words can say.
Thank you so very much.
