So, this sucks.

Currently, as of the beginning of March, I have been sick for the majority of February until now. While I’m finally turning a corner, it’s taken a lot of time and money to get there. Thanks to how my job has restructured our paid time off, I also haven’t been paid for over the last week.

I made myself a New Year’s resolution to get ahead on things so I wouldn’t have to scrape around this year, and I was well on the way to doing that. I just didn’t foresee getting sick for three straight weeks. So, that didn’t happen!

I have ulcerative colitis, which is an autoimmune disease. Stuff other folks get over in a weekend can end up deadly for me if not taken care of. I very nearly ended up in the hospital, had to pay hundreds of dollars between multiple doctors visits and medicine, and now I’m not getting paid for an entire week.

Now, I have bills coming up, payments to OTHER doctors for my back and skin cancer, and also need to hope to plan for the NEXT time I get sick and sit on anything I have for awhile.

So, I’m trying to hope and recoup anything I can between my lost pay and the copious amount of money I’ve had to shovel for medical in the last month.
