Hi, my name is Precious. On September 27 2024 my life along with thousands of others lives took a turn for the absolute worst. My life became a blur within moments. Earlier on this day, I evacuated my three minor children ages 14, 11 and three for obvious safety reasons. I then returned to my home considering the fact of my line of duty. I am currently a healthcare essential employee. I have been in this field for about eight years, I absolutely love what I do and knowing that I returned to my home anticipating on the activation of my designated team thinking that, that was the right and responsible thing to do.
Ahead of the hurricane. I prepared myself and storm prepped my apartment. But, Being under a unmeasurable amount of stress from phone calls and overwhelming text messages there was one thing that so happened to slip my mind, my transportation. After spending a decent amount of time searching for my sleep aid medication, I was able to fall sound asleep close to midnight but shortly after falling asleep or what seemed to be shortly became a total nightmare.
There were fire alarms and tons of car alarms going off, one after another. Looking out the window and realising that my entire apartment complex vehicles were submerged underwater. My heart stopped. Not only am I here alone. My only transportation have been submerged underwater and in results of this catastrophic traumatic experience my livelihood which includes my employment my apartment and my children childcare are all currently on the line for termination.
I want to remain optimistic but reality seems to outweigh at all during these challenging times. This fundraiser means more to me than I can express. Any amount big or small will go toward the hopes of getting my family and I a reliable vehicle.
