Most people think domestic abuse has to leave a bruise. Coercive control can destroy a life without leaving visible marks.
I am Australian. I am baseball. I am DV.
I don’t have family: coersive control is being isolated, monitored, threatened, criticised, financially controlled, and slowly taught that your needs do not matter. It can mean being afraid to spend money, afraid to eat, afraid to ask for help, afraid to exist. That is what happened to me.
By the time I got out, I was safe — but the damage was severe. My confidence, finances, health, and sense of self had been stripped back until survival became the only goal. I am finally home. But now I need to be able to stay home.
This fundraiser is for food, medication, treatment, transport to appointments, utilities, internet, and the basic stability. I am asking for the chance to survive long enough to rebuild.
Every donation helps keep me housed, fed, connected, medicated, and moving forward. I survived the control. Now I need help surviving the aftermath.
