Help with Expenses while Halibell is in ICU
Donation protected
We are the proud parents of a congenital heart defect warrior. This is Halibell Morales. She was diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot when I was 22 weeks pregnant. We thought we were prepared for her arrival at the end of August but, then due to complications with my uterus (placenta accreta), she was born 5 weeks early on July 27th. Our little rockstar was only in the NICU for 2 days.
The next 3 months were spent going to pediatrician and cardiologist appointments. We struggled in the beginning to get her to gain weight. She was born at 5 pounds and they hoped she would be 10 pounds by surgery time. It takes longer for a Tetrology baby to gain weight because their hearts are having to work harder to keep the oxygenated blood flowing.
Halibell is having her open heart surgery today (November 13) in Atlanta. She weighs 9.9 pounds and is expected to be in the hospital for 5-7 days, beginning in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. It will take her 6-8 weeks to heal from the surgery.
The delivery and stay in the NICU has already created $3000 in medical bills. I have ran out of paid leave at work and had no income for 3 weeks while out. Now I will be losing pay again while we are in the hospital for the open heart surgery.
On December 31, Halibell began throwing up and seemed dehydrated. We drove her to the ER, where see became drastically worse. She was transported to the childrens hospital, back in the cardiac intensive care unit, after hours of getting her stabilized for the ride.
if you are unable to help financially, sharing the fundraiser and prayers are appreciated.
