INVEST IN THE FUTURE OF THE NEPALI DIASPORA

Birthright Nepal is a US-based nonprofit organization fundraising to reconnect young Nepali diaspora with their homeland through professional and cultural experiences in Nepal.

Birthright Nepal began as an answer to some of the most important questions for the Nepali diaspora.

What does it mean to be a Nepali abroad?

How much of our culture and heritage will be passed onto future generations?

What happens to Nepal when the majority of its doctors, engineers, and scientists leave?

Who will take care of those left behind in Nepal?

Our organization believes that the best way to ensure Nepal's sustainable growth and connection to its diaspora is to recruit Nepali diaspora graduates and young professionals for the Birthright Nepal Fellowship. Through the Fellowship, young Nepali diaspora will return to Nepal and contribute to the development of their homeland by working at leading research institutions like Dhulikhel Hospital and non-profit organizations like Nepal Institute for Development Studies. The Fellows will also spend their weekends immersing themselves in Nepali culture and heritage through historical site visits, meetings with leading media, government, and cultural officials, and a Nepali language course.

We are fundraising $15,000 to pay for housing, plane tickets, and the programming costs for our 3 fellows: Saisha, Manasa, and Shaswat whose profiles you can see below. Your donation will help the next generation of Nepali youth reconnect with their roots and sustainably build Nepal's future.
