Help rebuild Windward, Carriacou after hurricane Beryl

Hi,
We kindly ask for your contribution to the journey of recovery for Windward. Our mission is to provide immediate housing relief, and then to support the rebuilding of crucial community services such as the school. Please share!
Monday 1st of July 2024 our beloved island Carriacou (part of Grenada) was completely destroyed, when the eye of a cat 4 hurricane named Beryl ripped right over this tiny slice of paradise. The devastation is unimaginable with complete destruction of all electricity, communication and water infrastructure, as well as all agriculture and natural environment. Almost all private homes (98% according to the government) are completely damaged making them unliveable, and most people also lost their livelihood. The need for support is critical and very urgent.
Cal (Callistus Enoe) and myself (Jessica Persson) decided to start this fundraising with the purpose to help rebuild Windward, a small fishing and boating community located on the shores of northern Carriacou. This is where Cal was born and raised and where we and our son Cajo have our family; his grandparents, his uncles and aunties, his cousins and lots of extended family and friends. This is also the heart of the traditional boat building on Carriacou where Cal learnt his trade to build beautiful wooden Carriacou sloops from his father, Alwyn Enoe, a legend in this field.
Our family is lucky, all alive and well, with two houses damaged but still liveable. This is not the case for most other families in Windward, and most also lost their livelihood. Also all community service is lost, like the school, the grocery store, the clinic and the church, and most boats (many crucial for long term survival) was severely damaged or lost. The need is desperate.
On these grounds we kindly ask for your contribution to the journey of recovery for Windward. Our mission is to provide immediate housing relief, and then to support the rebuilding of crucial community services such as the school.
All the money donated will go to Cal, who will as soon as possible personally plan, purchase and distribute supplies on site, in order to achieve our mission. He is already on site, supporting the needs of Windward and Carriacou, but in dire need of funds to make a real difference.
Every contribution, no matter how big or small, brings Windward closer to a brighter, stronger future. Beryl tested the strength of the Carriacou people, but it will not break their spirit.
Thank you for your help to restore hope, unity and strength to the vibrant people of Windward and Carriacou. If you are not in the position to donate, still share please!
