The van service business has always been dedicated to providing reliable transportation for guests in our community. However, after Hurricane Melissa struck, everything changed. Not only did the storm cause a significant decline in visitors, making it increasingly difficult to keep the business doors open, but it also destroyed my home, leaving me in a devastated state. For the past 3-4 weeks, I have been sleeping in my van, and only recently was I able to find temporary shelter. I am doing my best to rebuild, but it has been an incredibly tough journey.

Working in the tourist industry, I rely on visitors to generate enough work to support myself and keep the business running. With the slow return of people to Jamaica, I am not getting enough bookings to cover the costs of repairs, fuel, or to rebuild my home. Every day, I strive to serve guests and maintain the high standards that have made the van service a trusted part of the area, but without support, it’s becoming harder to keep up with the demands and ensure the van is ready for each booking.
