On October 28th, 2025, Hurricane Melissa struck the island of Jamaica as a Category 5 hurricane. Along its destructive path, the Trittonville Baptist Church in the district of Duanvale, Trelawny parish was severely damaged. The church, originally constructed in 1896 with materials that were not as durable as today, has been a cornerstone of the community for generations. After the storm, a construction engineer assessed the building and determined it was a total loss. The remaining structure must be demolished, and the church needs to be completely rebuilt from the ground up.

This church has served as a place of worship, support, and hope for countless families over the years. The loss has deeply affected the congregation and the wider community, who rely on the church for spiritual guidance and community programs. Donations received will go directly towards demolishing and clearing the existing structure, and rebuilding a new church that can continue to serve the people of Duanvale for generations to come.
