Hello, my name is Emma and I am trying to raise funds to help my sister Annabelle rebuild her beautiful business.

Annabelle was unfortunately involved in a road traffic accident on Friday 19th July. It was a head on collision between her van and a combine harvester. Annabelle had to be cut out of the van and air lifted to Southampton hospital. The first four days she spent in intensive care, before being moved to a ward. She has cuts, bruises and broken bones and a few internal injuries, but thankfully nothing long lasting.

For most people this would be traumatic enough, but the accident resulted in her beautiful van being completely written off and the end of her little business; The Travelling Retreat.

Annabelle, with the help of her partner Joe, converted the Mercedes Sprinter over a 5 month period at the end of 2022 and the beginning of 2023. She opened her doors to her first clients in April 2023. The business was still in its early stages but was going from strength to strength every month. It had just got to the point where she had enough clients to be working full time and earning a living. Annabelle was incredibly proud of what she had achieved.

The accident is a devastating blow to Annabelle, not just emotionally, but financially too. At the moment we are unsure how much will be covered by insurance. Due to the severity of the accident, the van is being detained by police so we don’t even know if anything inside the van is salvageable. We do know that none of her products, any equipment that is not attached to the van or any of the decor will be covered by her insurance.

As Annabelle may be out of action for some time, and this was her sole form of income, we would also like to raise funds to help her with day to day bills. This will include helping to pay off her original business start up costs that she is still paying off on a monthly basis.

We are incredibly thankful to The London Brow Company who have already pledged to replace any of Annabelle’s damaged products purchased from them. This is so generous, and honestly made Annabelle’s day from her hospital bed.
