On Merorial day my sister received the worst call ever while away camping, her house was on fire. Three of her beloved cats, a bunny and two lizards were home at the time, unfortunately two cat perished while the others managed to survive in the basement. Her family of 6 has been completely displaced and is facing substantial expenses beyond the scope of what her insurance will cover. Including irreplaceable memories and personal belongings. My brother in law missed two weeks of work to salvage what little was undamaged by fire, water or smoke. My sister has been supporting her oldest daughters two boys, along with our mother, since Jasmine's death this past November. There have been many donations of items and cash, every penny has been spent to purchase necessary items and supplies while living in a hotel and now an apartment since the fire. Next step is managing a new normal while their house is rebuilt, which will be from anywhere between 10 months and a year. While they are managing the stress and acceptance of their losses with family, friends, and God by ther side, the pain is still immeasurable.
