On the evening of November 21st our hearts broke in a way we never imagined. A sudden fire tore through the kitchen of The Hideout Bar & Grill, leaving behind smoke, damage, and a silence that feels painfully heavy.

What should have been another day of serving our community — sharing meals, laughter, and connection — instead became the day we watched our dream go up in flames.

For those who know us, you know The Hideout isn’t just a restaurant.

It’s our family’s entire life.

It’s our pride, our passion, and the home we have poured every ounce of our heart, soul, savings, and endless hours into.

We moved halfway across the world to build something special here in the Southern Highlands — a place where everyone felt welcome, where community came first, where good food and good people created something magical. Over time, The Hideout became more than a business. It became a safe place, a meeting place, a celebration spot, a home for themed nights, laughs, friendships, and memories.

To stand in the charred remains of our kitchen… it’s overwhelming.

The equipment is ruined. Walls, wiring, appliances — all damaged beyond safe use. Smoke has seeped everywhere. We are heartbroken, but determined.

Why We Need Help

Insurance will help with some parts — but it won’t come close to covering everything.

There are major gaps including:

• Replacing destroyed kitchen equipment

• Repairs to infrastructure and wiring

• Smoke damage cleanup

• Lost stock

• Lost income during closure
