Help rebuild Step-by-Step, one board at a time

On the evening of 12/6/22 a horrendous fire tore through a small-town warehouse which housed a small local business. Step By Step Custom Millwork was founded in by longtime friends and true craftsmen; Jim McGarvey and Gary Smith. Both 35+ year residents of the small Town of Arcade. Between the two of them they had three sons and 2 grandsons employed at times to learn and start their respective careers.

The business and contents stand at a total loss. Machinery, tooling and material that took a lifetime to accumulate were erased in a matter of hours. They are now faced with the grueling task of assessing the lost history they have worked so hard to create as well as determine how they will possibly continue as they try to piece together what once was from the smoldering rubble.

Tragedy hurts worse when it hits close to home.

So we’re now asking the community of which many homes have been built by these two men to help give them a little breathing room and give them a chance to get back to doing what they do best, building, Step by Step Custom Millwork.

While the holiday season adds stress to many and the timing isn’t ideal, there’s no better way to help than right now.
