Skylight Farms is a small, family-owned and operated sustainable practice vegetable farm in Snohomish, Washington. We were recently hit by a devastating flood that neared historic levels.
Given how the water level predictions jumped - literally overnight - to unprecedented heights, we didn’t have enough time to prepare. We did our best to move things to high ground but we sustained quite a bit of damage and lost items that floated away. We have crops in the ground that are completely ruined.
Some of the damage includes: Our 40ft shipping container was tipped onto its side. One of our chicken coops sailed onto our neighbor’s property taking out the fence along the way. The pump house for our well was destroyed and the garage of the farmhouse was flooded. It’s impossible to list everything but in short, it’s a colossal mess with a thick layer of silt everywhere.
We appreciate any amount of support that will help us repair, clean, and replace what we’ve lost.
A million thanks for your generosity!
