Hurricane Melissa has brought unimaginable devastation to Jamaica. Our hearts go out to the entire island and to everyone whose lives and homes have been impacted. Silent Waters Villa, too, felt the storm’s full force.

For decades, Silent Waters has been more than a destination. It has been a sanctuary - a place of beauty, peace and connection, shaped by the extraordinary people who make it feel like home.

Our team is the heart and soul of Silent Waters. They welcome guests with warmth, prepare each meal with love, and ensure every stay becomes a lifelong memory. Many of our staff members, some of whom have been with us for more than 20 years, have also suffered severe damage to their own homes. Despite these challenges, we are committed to keeping every one of them employed as we rebuild, together.

Sadly, as is common throughout the Caribbean, hurricane insurance is prohibitively expensive, and Silent Waters is not covered for this kind of damage. Every roof has been damaged with some roofs completely torn from the structure, including the kitchen, the owners villa, villa 3, villa 4, villa 5 and the garage. The wooden shutters and doors have blown off, the glass windows have shattered and nearly every tree is uprooted. We will have to cover the costs out of pocket while also helping our incredible team recover and get back on their feet.
