Help Seville Heights, Priory Jamaica Rebuild After Hurricane Melissa

Hello everyone,
My name is Amera Rose, and I am a 22-year U.S. Navy Veteran (Chief, Retired) born and raised in Seville Heights, Priory, St. Ann, Jamaica. I currently live in the United States, but my heart and family remain deeply connected to my hometown.

I’m organizing this fundraiser to support the residents of Seville Heights, Priory, who have been severely affected by Hurricane Melissa. Many families have lost everything: homes destroyed, roofs torn off, crops and livelihoods wiped out, and access to clean water and electricity remains limited. The community I grew up in is now struggling to survive and rebuild.

As someone who proudly served my country and has always believed in service before self, I now feel called to serve once more, this time, to help rebuild the place that built me.

Who I Am
I’m Amera Rose, a retired Chief Petty Officer of the United States Navy with 22 years of service. I was born in Seville Heights, Priory, Jamaica, and although I now reside in the U.S., I maintain close ties with my family, friends, and community members there.

My Relationship to the Community
Seville Heights is my home village, the place where I was raised, educated, and shaped by its people and values. Many of the individuals impacted by this disaster are my relatives, neighbors, and lifelong friends. I’m working closely with trusted local contacts to ensure all funds are distributed directly and fairly to those most in need.

How the Funds Will Be Used
Every donation will go directly toward:
• Emergency supplies: Food, clean water, and personal hygiene items for displaced families
• Home repairs and rebuilding: Roofing materials, lumber, cement, and other building supplies for damaged homes
• Community support: Assistance for elderly residents, children, and single parents struggling to recover
• Restoration efforts: Helping restore power, school facilities, and community centers as resources allow
All funds will be distributed transparently and documented with photos, receipts, and community updates shared on this campaign page to keep donors informed of the recovery progress.

Every dollar counts and brings us one step closer to recovery. If you’re unable to donate, please help by sharing this campaign so others can contribute.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your compassion, generosity, and prayers. Together, we can help Seville Heights rise again.

Jamaica strong — One love, always.

With gratitude,
Amera Rose, Chief (Retired), U.S. Navy Veteran
Born and raised in Seville Heights, Priory, St. Ann, Jamaica.
