My name is Alyssa Michel, and I created this campaign on behalf of my mother, Olivea, and Aunt, Paulette, dedicated members of the Savanna-la-Mar community. Paulette and Olivea grew up in Savanna-la-Mar before moving to the United States of America.
In the wake of Hurricane Melissa, many community members of Savanna-la-Mar in Westmoreland, Jamaica, have been left without shelter and daily essentials. It is our responsibility to help Jamaica rebuild!
Every donation will help us rebuild our communities and bring essential supplies to Savanna-la-Mar on the ground, including the communities of Russia, Segre Street, and Ricketts Street. Your kind consideration will make a notable difference in the lives of each affected family.
How will your donation be used?
Your donation, no matter how large or small, will help to purchase building materials (including zinc roofs, cement, timber) and labor, toiletries, food, and barrels.
Near Philadelphia and prefer to donate physical items?
Please drop off your donations at BroadView Kitchen & Bath, located at 6330 N Broad St, Philadelphia, PA 19141.
We ask for:
- toiletries (soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, washcloths, etc)
- diapers
- baby formula
- feminine hygiene products
- new clothes for children and teens.
Please ensure that all goods are within date. We will not accept expired or near-expired items.
I am sincerely grateful for your consideration to donate. It is only together that we can begin to restore the livelihoods of Savanna-la-Mar's most affected.
Let's help Savanna-la-Mar rebuild!
